General Debility

General Debility

Whether you’ve suffered a serious injury or are living with a chronic illness, general debility affects your ability to complete simple daily tasks you need to do. Our debility rehabilitation can help you relearn or improve skills you may have lost due to muscle weakness and low endurance after a long period of injury or illness.

When you have general debility, you are likely experiencing muscle loss from being confined to a bed or a chair for a long period of time. The quicker you enter rehabilitation therapy, the better chance you have of recovery. In fact, it has been shown that higher recovery rates are achieved when inpatient rehabilitation is begun sooner and with more time spent on therapy each day after an illness or injury.

There are many different types of debility. Some of the most common reasons for general debility are related to:

  • Heart problems
  • Lung problems
  • Ongoing physical pain

It is important to treat any physical debility with inpatient therapy because doing so can increase the chances of returning to a more normal life. Our care is designed to help you improve your abilities and return to a more normal life.
